Split into two articles?[]

So... Isaac has an in-universe presence. All good. He's also a real person that acted as scientific adviser on Star Trek: The Motion Picture. That means that he should have a separate real world article, just as Stephen Hawking should be split. This would then make them more similar to the Maury Ginsberg and Maury Ginsberg (actor) articles, which is how these situations should be handled. -- Sulfur 13:37, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

I agree. Split those articles to avoid that in-and-out-of-universe mix-up. :) -- Cid Highwind 14:49, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Asimov is split now. Next... Hawking. :) -- Sulfur 14:37, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Since you've split Asimov, then all real world information on him should be removed from this page such as his the last line mentioning his serving as scientific advisor on Star Trek: The Motion Picture. On another note, how about a ref at the top of the page indicating "You may also be looking for Captain Amasov of the starship Endeavour." Perhaps there should even be a disambiguation page...???--Deepspace93 23:55, 18 April 2009 (UTC)

This makes no sense to us[]

This is all wrong, and is completely contrary to what was stated in the original suggestion. Both the pre-split example of Maury Ginsberg and the post-split example of Stephen Hawking (aka both of the in-universe characters) were given the main, unqualified location, but the in-between Asimov split gave the in-universe character a qualifier (Isaac Asimov (author), over the "real world" Asimov... --Alan (talk) 14:18, May 14, 2019 (UTC)
