The Geordi 25:1 reference needs to cited, I'm guessing "Galaxy's Child", but I'm not sure it actually referred to "intermix ratio". The "Where No One Has Gone Before" reference refers to "intermix formula." --Alan 01:00, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

Relation between 'textbook' ratio and practical ratio Edit

The question that had been used in TNG: "Coming of Age" did not include any information regarding the plasma flow, which makes it comparable with middle-school volume-equations that omit the thickness of the containing object (e.g. a crate).

One can say that the textbook ratio does not account for the amount of matter needed to keep the plasma flowing. Which explains why the practical ratio gets closer to 1:1 the higher the warp-factor becomes as the amount of matter needed to keep the plasma flowing could be (and presumably is) a constant factor.

One piece of evidence that supports this is the fact that the VISIBLE plasma tubes only go FROM the Warp core, as far as I know there is NO evidence of plasma being RETURNED to the Warp core.– 13:16, 16 October 2008 (UTC)
