I removed the following uncited info:

Well into his seventies, Wolfe made annual climbs to the summit of California's Mount Whitney, which he celebrated by standing on his head each time. He certified this rite as being a ritual of his own "Damn Fool Club."

If a citation can be found, I guess it can be re-added, but I don't see how it is relevant to the article based on the type of encyclopedia this is.
