Removed material
Edit
I have removed the following from the article due to lack of citation:
- Several members of the Star Trek: Enterprise production staff have joked that the last of the humpback whales were killed by Paxton's verteron beam that missed Starfleet Command and was instead redirected into San Francisco Bay at the end of "Terra Prime". {{incite}}
I can find no evidence to support this fact online. -- Michael Warren | Talk 16:19, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Research Needed
Edit
Does the use of a "full-fledged language" qualify the whales as sentient?
Category
Edit
If Humpbacks are sentient, should they really be categorized as "animals"? Shouldn't it be just "Species"?(Earth, too, like Human)--31dot 23:40, April 27, 2010 (UTC)
Removed
Edit
In reality, Humpback Whales have never been kept in captivity as of 2010.
Removed the above per MA:NIT, as we do not make comparisons to reality.--31dot 21:37, May 5, 2010 (UTC)
Planet of origin
Edit
I have removed the section stating they are indigenous to Earth, since that after they were proven in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home to have extraterrestrial connections, this means we cannot know whether they in fact originated from Earth. 82.32.187.141 18:17, January 23, 2013 (UTC)
- I've restored it; Humans had extraterrestrial connections even prior to First Contact (Sky Spirits); that doesn't mean Humans aren't from Earth. 31dot (talk) 23:49, January 23, 2013 (UTC)
