PNA-incompleteEdit

This needs much expansion, as well as some references. So far the only references listed are referring to everything but the actual hologrid -- even then I'm not sure what is referenced is accurate or applicable. --Gvsualan 01:43, 29 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Sounds like they're describing holographic imaging, rather than anything specifically to do with a hologrid. I'm not sure what can be said about it... maybe:

"The hologrid on Galaxy-class starships is made up of yellow squared lines on a black surface. This is usually not seen during normal holodeck activities, unless the power is disrupted. In 2370, whilst the USS Enterprise-D was transporting the Boraalans from their decimated homeworld to their new planet, various ship-wide malfunctions caused the hologrid to become visable in certain places, such as water and the sky. Fortunately, this civilisation were not technologically advanced, so they thought of the disturbances as omens that they were moving in the right direction. (TNG: "Homeward")

On Intrepid-class cruisers, such as the USS Voyager, the hologrid had been upgraded and now had the appearance of silver walls and thin scaffoldings holding holoemitters in place on the walls. This was almost never seen during normal situations, because of the sophistication of the design, but when Voyager was borded and over-run by the Hirogen in 2374, the holodeck's walls were breached, leaving a large gap, with the edges of the hologrid clearly visible to the users on the deck. (VOY: "The Killing Game") In the same year, this configuration of hologrid was also seen on the ship that Section 31 was operating on, under the orders of Luther Sloan. (DS9: "Inquisition")" zsingaya 19:12, 2 Aug 2005 (UTC)
