to paraphrase an appearance ensign? but isn't he wearing lieutenant stripes? The rank insignia overrides the script or credits i feel -- unless he was an ensign some other time? -- Captain Mike K. Barteltalk 22:18, 21 Oct 2005 (UTC)

According to my notes, this is what Paul Baxley's characters wore. Whether they were all Freeman or not is non-canoncial. There's no hard evidence either way.
  • The Trouble with Tribbles (Lieutenant, Gold)
  • Assignment: Earth (Lieutenant, Red)
  • And the Children Shall Lead (Ensign, Red)
I don't remember if he was called Ensign in Trouble With Tribbles? --Myko 15:39, 22 Oct 2005 (UTC)
  • I've checked -- i think the actual insignia he wore in the majority of his appearances should take precedence over any credits references or mistakes where he lacked it (seems to be lieutenant, expecially considering the DS9 dialogue regarding it). -- Captain Mike K. Barteltalk 16:30, 22 Oct 2005 (UTC)
It's not impossible to get demoted though. --Myko 21:41, 22 Oct 2005 (UTC)
I removed Assignment: Earth. Baxley was playing the McKinley Rocket Base security chief in this episode, not Freeman. -- Bridge 16:46, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Actually, watching the episode it appears that Baxley played BOTH a security officer (I assume Freeman) in the transporter scene with Gary Seven, AND the security chief at the rocket base. I noticed this a while ago, and just happened to read this.cvalin 21:02, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I fixed my mistake in removing Assignment: Earth a long time ago. Like you, I thought Baxley was playing the chief at McKinley, but he wasn't. See Talk: Jack Nesvig for the whole explanation. As for Freeman's rank, it's stated quite specifically in "Trials and Tribble-ations" that he's a lieutenant. - Bridge 21:30, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Removed inaccurate noteEdit

I removed the following for the following reasons:

His latter appearances in "Assignment:Earth" and "And the Children Shall Lead," which Memory Alpha also assumes is that of Freeman, were credited as "security guard."

First of all, he was credited as "security chief" in "Assignment: Earth." In "And the Children Shall Lead," he wasn't credited at all. Second, why do we need to say we assume his other appearances are Freeman as well? We don't say on Galloway's page that we assume his appearance in "The Galileo Seven" is him even though he wasn't called by name and was credited as a transporter operator. -- Bridge 05:51, 9 May 2008 (UTC)
