Titles[]

About the Enaran names and their similarity:

Actually, Jor and Jora are not names but titles, meaning something like "venerable old XXX" or something like that. Jora Mirell's name is actually Korenna Mirell, Jora is just the title she got, when she reached a certain age. This is all form the Star Trek Encyclopedia, so presumably from the script of the episode. --Jörg 00:37, 2 Oct 2005 (UTC)

It was in the actual episode, not just the script. It was in one of Torres' dreams in that episode. Torres didn't realize who the name belonged to because of the fact that Mirell was going by the title of Jora while on Voyager.

I meant the bit about Jor/Jora being a title and not some alias is mentioned in the Encyclopedia and thus is from the script. That info is not mentioned in the episode, the titles Jora and Jora, however, are of course heard in the episode, they are just not identified as titles, leading to Torres not identifying her as Korenna. --Jörg 10:48, 31 May 2008 (UTC)

Enarans/Banea[]

I noticed a particular resemblance between the Enarans and the Banea and came here thinking they were the same race. No connection is made in either article, and I'm sure it's just a coincidence. Does anyone know of any real-world articles detailing any other physically near-identical races?? Star Trek's been goin on for a long time with new races being introduced pretty frequently. I wouldn't be surprised to find alot of very similar minor races....... Tripgnosis 06:55, 27 May 2008 (UTC)

I don't really see the resemblance that much. But sure, a lot of aliens look alike...Betazoids, Humans and numerous other simple aliens. Kamala and Trills. So on and so forth. If the Kazon didn't have dreadlocks they'd look pretty Klingon. -- Morder 07:03, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
If you're looking for an article about similar make-ups or aliens species, look here at Ex Astris Scientia (shameless plug ;-)). -- Jörg 15:02, 27 May 2008 (UTC)
The costumes/dress look similar, but, otherwise - Banea have inhuman foreheads, while Enarans really look just like humans. SennySix 22:54, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
It looked to me at first that the Enarans had an inhuman forehead similar to the Banea, I realize now that it was headwear... Tripgnosis 18:11, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Removed text[]

I removed the following speculation:

The Enarans may have a relatively limited syllabary, as many of the Enarans we have seen (Jareth, Jor Brel, Jora Mirell, Jessen) seem to have relatively similar-sounding names. However, this may be a coincidence and is pure speculation.
