why does keeping Native American's seprate continue into the 23th century. I mean I'm all for preserving cultural identity but it seems mean to group a people like that almost like a seprate species. 24.125.95.154

why is it stated that Dorvan V is not Chakotay's homeworld? It just seems irrelevant, and an attempt to refute a book's info without canon support.68.3.86.104 18:36, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

I'm removing it. We might as well say Qo'noS isn't his homeworld either. There is no need to state it on every article. --OuroborosCobra talk 18:39, 24 April 2007 (UTC)
Disagreed, it is a natural assumption, giving the fact that he both grew up in a native American environment and served with the Maquis. Also I read on his own article that Dorvan V is mentioned as his home planet in some (though not all) novels (witch I don't know so I can't confirm). So IMHO at least a note debunking that is in order, something along the lines of:

Although Dorvan V was mentioned as the homeworld of Chakotay in several novels, this has never been confirmed in canon. Given his background it would however constitute a logical candidate [[Capricorn 11:10, 14 July 2007 (UTC)]]

American Indians, again? Edit

Are you trying to tell me that Dorvan V and Amerind are not the same planet? That's just bad continuity management. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.219.231.82 (talk).

How so? Or is what you are trying to say is that you are somehow aware that there only 50 American Indians left by that time and they only live on one planet... --Alan del Beccio 18:00, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
No, we aren't saying they are the same, nor did Trek. This may come as a shock, but Native Americans can live on more than one planet. Those of Dorvan V left Earth by choice using standard tech, like any other Earth colonists, having left in the 2070s (not long after warp drive), and finding a suitable home in 2350s. Those on Amerind were transplanted hundreds of years earlier by an external non-human force, the Wise Ones. Not at all related, absolutely no continuity problem. --OuroborosCobra talk 18:02, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
