Speculation on origins?Edit

I know that Dopterians were canonicly confermed to be distant relatives of the ferengi in "the forsaken", but I highly doubt the canon status of this recently added tidbit:

Theory is that Ferengi proto-humanoids were integrated into the Dopterian homeworld. (TNG: "Firstborn", DS9: "The Forsaken")

I'm certain this isn't in the forsaken, and I can't find it in the script of any other episode either. Anyone knows where this comes from? otherwise I think it should be removed.
