NamingEdit

Did they actually ever say "Dominion Intelligence" on DS9 or is this an inference? I thought the Founders' main puppets were the Vorta and Jem'Hadar; I am not sure I ever heard the term "Dominion Intelligence" or if the info they gathered was just part of the activities of the Vorta, who also had medical scientists etc. Point being: do we really need a separate article on this or can it be merged with Dominion war or Dominion? – Distantlycharmed 03:49, October 19, 2010 (UTC)

A quick transcript search suggests it was mentioned in "To the Death". -- Capricorn 10:02, October 19, 2010 (UTC)
Just from memory I think the mention in that episode had to do with how the Dominion found out about the rogue Jem'Hadar. In that case the article should be limited to only the specific references.--31dot 10:04, October 19, 2010 (UTC)
I don't think we should limit ourselves to just one mention. After all, the Founders' infiltration of the Alpha Quadrant counts as espionage coups. And during the war, it must have helped them as much as Starfleet Intelligence tracked the enemy fleet.- JustPhil 11:27, October 19, 2010 (UTC)
And that's speculating. We mention what was mentioned on screen. -- sulfur 11:29, October 19, 2010 (UTC)
We don't know that all Dominion use of espionage was organized by this group. In the real world, the US has several such groups that gather intelligence.--31dot 12:34, October 19, 2010 (UTC)

It is well established that The Romulan's have Tal Shiar and the Cardassians the Obsidian Order, and Federation Section 31 etc., but is Dominion Intelligence really something like those: an organized intelligence arm within an empire (the Dominion)? Sure the Founders tried ways to infiltrate the Federation but was it done as part of their planned attack on them overall, I doubt they had a separate intelligence agency that dealt with it. It seems to me like its just inference and should be incorporated into the Dominion articles. – Distantlycharmed 16:53, October 19, 2010 (UTC)

As long as it was mentioned, it can have an article. A use of the term is not "inference". What we think the Dominion had or did not have is not relevant.--31dot 17:21, October 19, 2010 (UTC)
Alright, perhaps we should remove all the Founder interference and stick to the To The Death and (highly probable) Dominion War activities.- JustPhil 17:28, October 19, 2010 (UTC)
Stick to what's mentioned. A bginfo note could be added about the highly probable stuff, but make sure there's no speculation. -- sulfur 17:30, October 19, 2010 (UTC)
