Alteration suggestion? Edit

In 2293, a bottle of Dom Pérignon was used to name the USS Enterprise-B on Earth spacedock according to Earth´s naval tradition. The vintage used was 2265. (Star Trek Generations)

As it really is a naval tradition to break the bottle of champagne on ships hull, in order to bewitch it with good fortune and full sails. This had nothing to do with the celebration itself (it is a gesture honoring the TRADITION, not the festive celebration.) --JHawx 01:41, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

Sure it is, but we don't need to harp on about it. We also need to learn to use the correct apostrophes. ' not ´. It's the key under the double quote. -- sulfur 01:47, March 11, 2010 (UTC)

Removed bg note Edit

As evidenced by Star Trek Generations, Dom Pérignon managed to survive World War III, or at least was revived afterward, and is still in production at least through the end of the 23rd century. Through future Star Trek appearances it is still known of in the 24th century as a premium alcoholic beverage from Earth, perhaps on the same level as Klingon bloodwines and Romulan ale.

That's not a note, that's a musing :D - No info in there that is particularly useful -- Capricorn 23:26, September 25, 2011 (UTC)
