Disambiguation

I have removed the disambiguation template and added a category, as this page was not disambiguating anything with the same natural title, as the disambiguation policy states.--31dot 00:07, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

If you remove the template then remove the link from the disambiguation page. To be honest, none of the Greek letters are really disambiguations, but there's absolutely no need for them to exist if they don't sortof act that way.
As this "article" stands right now... it's a list of things that have "delta" in the name. It's not a classic disambiguation, but neither are most of our disambiguation pages. -- sulfur 11:01, July 22, 2011 (UTC)
We also shouldn't have just this article not be a disambiguation while all the others are. I've restored the disambiguation template for consistency. - Archduk3 18:52, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

I figured I would start with one of them and see the reaction it got before I did more; I know there are a few Greek letter pages out there. There are also a lot of proper name pages with similar content(I think we've deleted a few of those). To tell the truth, I don't care very much if this is considered a disambiguation or not- but I do think that the policy should match up with the content of the disambiguation pages. If we want to have "anything with X in the name" pages as disambigs, then the policy should be expanded, which I may bring up over on that policy page.--31dot 20:03, July 22, 2011 (UTC)

Looking back, I see we deleted the proper name disambigs Carey, Karen, and William on the grounds they weren't disambigs. --31dot 00:28, July 23, 2011 (UTC)

I think my opinion on the disambiguation policy is known, so I wouldn't have a problem with defining disambigs as helpful pages that have little or no content beyond listing related links. The definition of helpful is, of course, a debatable subject. That said, I don't really see any of the Greek letter pages being more then a list of links without copying info from the individual pages they link to, though I wouldn't have a problem with them being in a Greek language category either, or something similar. - Archduk3 05:29, July 25, 2011 (UTC)

I could support such a category.--31dot 15:13, August 18, 2011 (UTC)
