While I've rewritten the whole article anyhow, here's a whole paragraph where every single facts seems unconfirmed by canon, and I thus removed: -- Capricorn 08:52, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

In addition to ranch work, some cowboys worked for or participated in rodeos. They rode horses and wore cowboy hats, and many slept on their horses while riding. Cowgirls had a less-well known historical role, but did much of the same work that the men did.
