The categories are a bit odd here... the Captain's yacht comes under Category:Starship classes, but the Cousteau comes under Category:Shuttles. Which one is it, a starship or a shuttle? Zsingaya Talk 09:36, 11 Nov 2005 (UTC)

Shuttles is supposed to be the *names* of shuttles, starship classes is the *name* of starship/shuttle classes. Captain's yacht is a "class" of "starship", whereas Cousteau (yacht) is the name of the Captain's yacht for the Ent-E. --Alan del Beccio 09:47, 11 Nov 2005 (UTC)

I added a sidebar to organize the information already presented regarding this ship "class." Please flesh it out! That is, if there even is more information than its length. It also occurs to me that there should really be a separate article on the Sovereign yacht, the Galaxy yacht, and so on, with all the general information there. Much like how general ship info is on the class page, not the individual ship page. Maybe the Captain's yacht article just needs great expansion. Something should be done! --Werideatdusk 02:01, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

I removed the sidebar, there was not enough supported data to warrant its continuance. Additinally, I removed: "At 33.53 meters in length, the Cousteau was much larger than a standard shuttlecraft," a dimension also mentioned in the sidebar, I'm not sure the source for this, but it should somehow be cited. --Alan del Beccio 22:08, 29 January 2008 (UTC)

If memory serves (I don't have my copy to hand), the TNG Tech Manual claims that the authors had been told by Patrick Stewart (who ought to know!) that the unseen Captain's Yacht on the Enterprise-D was called Cousteau. Presumably John Eaves decided on the name based on Stewart's earlier claim. Either that or it's a hell of a coincidence. - 21:05, 28 August 2007 (UTC)

No, it was the Calypso. --Alan del Beccio 22:08, 29 January 2008 (UTC)
