This article is well written, but isn't circumnavigating just a form of navigation? This page could be a subsection of that one.--31dot 21:22, 7 June 2008 (UTC)

I considered that, but when I found that wikipedia divided the two, it seems like the next logical choice in my approach. But also, by definition, to "navigate" would seem to apply to going through something, whereas to "circumnavigate" would seem to apply to going around something. Obviously you have to navigate the ocean in order to circumnavigate the planet, but again, I see no reason to be so constrictive, in favor of building the web. --Alan 21:44, 7 June 2008 (UTC)
It's not a form of navigation at all. You have to navigate in order to circumnavigate, but by circumnavigating you're doing a lot more than just navigating. If taking a voyage some arbitrary place or way is simply and nothing more than navigating, then it would be true of crossing the English Channel, flying by night, warping out to Neptune and back in 6 minutes, tunneling through a wormhole and circumnavigation - all the same thing. "Around t' world, guv'nor? Oi, we di'n't actually GO around t' world, we just circumnavigated it." --TribbleFurSuit 04:11, 8 June 2008 (UTC)

Points taken. I have removed the merge template.--31dot 11:58, 8 June 2008 (UTC)
