Canon Edit

If the technical manuals and TAS are gray areas on canonicity, are the novelizations as well? I'd love to see some information here about who Charlie Reynolds was, and it would seem that the novelization of an episode carries more weight than, say, the entire run of TAS. • As far as TAS goes at MA, there is no gray area -- that fate is sealed here and is not even up for debate. As far as novels go, there are several reasons why they are not included in the main content of an arcticle (see Memory Alpha:Content policy FAQ), but primarily because the information was not referenced in any movie or episode, and are written, in most cases, by authors who have taken artistic liberties beyond the realm of what the TV show established/es. However, as we have in several articles, you can create an "Apocrypha" section for novel information. For example, see James T. Kirks page. TAS, at least, was written by the same writers who wrote for TOS, and the voices of the characters were provided by the same actors (in most cases) who appeared in TOS -- not to mention the numberous references from TAS used (primarily) throughout DS9 and ENT. --Alan del Beccio 07:44, 19 Oct 2005 (UTC)
