- [Cavit] was killed by the wave when he inexplicably chose to go for a jog rather than brace for impact.
This was reverted as it doesn't belong in the article, but it was just too funny not to add here. --From Andoria with Love 05:12, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
- Cavit was manning the tactical station when Voyager was thrown into the Delta Quadrant by a displacement wave created by the Caretaker. He tried to get to his chair before the wave collided with the ship, but did not make it and was killed in the resulting impact. (VOY: "Caretaker").
I'm sure he was actually Ops as he'd just activated the graviton particle field to try to disperse the Caretaker's displacement wave. Also, I don't think he was trying to get to his chair (I assume thats his command chair, not the tactical chair) as he was running just behind the conn and had already passed the command chairs when the wave hit.
- Cavit was, indeed, running from Tactical as shown here at Trekcore. Why he decided to run past a support column past the command chairs is unknown, but it may have been due to a problem with the inertial dampers preventing him from reaching the chairs. Remember, the Badlands is a very instable area for space travel. - Enzo Aquarius 13:59, 18 October 2006 (UTC)
- also i think the writers wanted him to die.
