Anyone else see a similarity between this and the detection scheme in John Carpenter's The Thing? Kalaong 06:51, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

If you look hard enough, you can find similarities between almost anything in fiction and some other piece of fiction. --OuroborosCobra talk 06:53, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Shapeshifting alien detectable only in samples you pull off them? Give another example. And the black oil from The X-Files isn't a shapeshifter - just a pod person. Kalaong 22:25, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

I don't need to give another example. Similarities between various pieces of fiction can always be found if one looks hard enough. You found a similarity, great, good for you. --OuroborosCobra talk 05:58, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
What my pal Cobra is trying to say is: there are so many elements of many episodes and movies that appear to be similar to other works, so unless it can be cited somewhere that the similarity was intentional, it really doesn't belong in an encyclopedia such as this. :) --From Andoria with Love 04:57, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
I would have said that, except Kalaong didn't ever suggest adding it to the article :P --OuroborosCobra talk 04:59, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

I was wondering if this would also fall under the Category:Security? – 122.105.108.13 13:57, 16 January 2009 (UTC)
