Shuttle 70172 merge Edit

It's been suggested by Airtram3 that this page be merged with Bardeen.

I agree as the Bardeen is seen with the registry number 70172 here. — Morder 10:38, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Name origins Edit

Removed speculation. It can go back if there is proof.

The shuttle was likely named after American electrical engineer and two-time Nobel Prize winner John Bardeen, who invented the transistor.--31dot 17:59, 5 June 2009 (UTC)
This type of background speculation is accepted across the site, (Curie (shuttlecraft), Fermi, Chaffee, Tereshkova (2371), Sacajawea, Cochrane (shuttlecraft), Feynman (shuttlecraft), etc.) Actually, basically pick any named shuttlecraft and you'll find an explanation behind its name, why should this page be different? - AJ Halliwell 04:35, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
Then it needs to be removed or cited. — Morder 04:37, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
Looking at the others they're stated as fact - presumably because there's a source out there that confirms it (except for Sacajawea). — Morder 04:56, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
There we go - Curie, Fermi, Feynman cited.– Cleanse 05:00, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
