"But my first visit to Axanar was as a new-fledged cadet on a peace mission. Peace mission ! Politicians and weaklings ! They were humanitarians and statesmen, and they had a dream-- a dream that became a reality and spread throughout the stars, a dream that made Mr. Spock and me brothers."
"Mr. Spock, do you consider Captain Kirk and yourself brothers ?
Captain Kirk speaks somewhat figuratively... and with undue emotion: however, what he says is logical... and I do, in fact, agree with it." (TOS: "Whom Gods Destroy")

I just discovered this article which strangely recall me the Kirk and Spock deal for Star Trek (even if it has been denied by Abrams). I know it may not be a good idea to talk about it here :) , but I just wanted to notice it. - Philoust123 11:52, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

Canon?[]

"They were humanitarians and statesmen, and they had a dream-- a dream that became a reality and spread throughout the stars, a dream that made Mr. Spock and me brothers."

For years I had thought this bit of dialog was a reference to the founding of the Federation. What a surprise it was find out that the Federation was founded in 2161. It makes me wonder how the canon would be different if the writer of this episode had given us a little more detail. medleyj
