I suppose the name comes from production ressources as it certainly wasn't stated on screen. Arcadia is also listed as their planet on Federation members#Council members, is this planet canon or not, since there was some debate about some of the planets listed there ? - Philoust123 19:04, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

PNA Edit

Obviously this article needs to be rewritten to conform to canon standards, but I'm not sure how best to do it, so I'm bringing this to everyone else's attention to let someone else take a whack at it...the naming coming from the ST IV Sourcebook (FASA) can go into an apocrypha section, obviously...Capt Christopher Donovan 02:46, 31 December 2007 (UTC)

I'm not sure what needs to be rewritten. The Arcadians were seen and all this article pretty much does is describe what they look like. And the content policy allows us to use reference sources for naming articles where no name was given in an episode or movie. So I'm not exactly sure what the problem is... am I missing something? :/ --From Andoria with Love 12:21, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

The problem is that the source of the name is a FASA RPG book, not a production source, or any of the "permitted resource" books as per the canon policy. Unless there is a citation in the film credits that uses this name, I don't see how it can stand, however well written it might be. I'm leaning towards putting it on the list of "unidentfied aliens" myself...Capt Christopher Donovan 23:18, 1 January 2008 (UTC)

This would mean taking the Arcadians, the Ariolo, the Arkenites, the Bzzit Khaht, the Kasheeta, and the Xelatians, and moving them all to an unknown aliens page. However beloved these fanon names might be, if we're going to adhere to canon, they don't really have the credentials for their own articles. -- Connor Cabal 14:19, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
This case is similar to the whole Efrosian debate we had some time ago. Apparently, just like "Efrosian", the names of the various aliens were seen on Paramount's initial publicity photos for Star Trek IV. We can keep those names then and add information about the origin and that it was FASA who adopted the names and thus made them public. --Jörg 15:18, 2 January 2008 (UTC)
Were the alleged ST4 publicity photos published? The Efrosian talk page suggests an issue of Cinefantastique, but that too has yet to be confirmed. Granted, the Efrosians are a unique case, what with the phone calls. As an aside, I remember a set of trading cards (~1996?) that had painted images of several unidentified Trek aliens (including some from ST4) and gave production nicknames for a few. Sound familliar to anyone? -- Connor Cabal 02:35, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
It's not canon at all, and neither are all the Okudagram crap and other stuff that Memory Alpha strangely seems to accept as canon nowadays. Sorry, no tildes. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 166.147.104.160 (talk).
