If I remember correctly, Green gave his speech "barely two years" after World War III ended. Since the war was described in Star Trek: First Contact as having ended in 2053, shouldn't Green's speech be listed in 2055? --From Andoria with Love 05:23, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

Wasn't it said 10 years ago (in 2063) as an approximation. - Philoust123 12:47, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

Indeed it was, but I think 2053 is pretty much the accepted date for the end of the war. Approximate could mean a few months off or a few years. It could also mean more than ten or less than ten. We just don't know for sure, so I think just putting it at ten years prior is the safe bet. --From Andoria with Love 15:41, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

In TOS: "The Savage Curtain", Colonel Green was said to have been from the early 21st Century. The WWIII referenced by Paxton was most likely the Eugenics Wars, concluding sometime during or shortly after the 1990s. Pegging the date as 2056 is far too late. Aholland 19:04, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

Aholland, I told you about that speculating. ;) But, yeah, since the show was written after First Contact and since the Eugenics Wars was never referred to as WWIII after "Space Seed", it's most likely the writers (and therefore, Paxton) were referring to the mid-21st century conflict (in fact, I would bet a lot that is exactly what they were referring to.) --From Andoria with Love 00:20, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Speculation does not enter into it. Green is specifically cited to early 21st Century in "The Savage Curtain". Please explain how that could be if he was making speaches and looking pretty young after a mid-21st century war? Aholland 04:13, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
