Taggart's Syndrome was a disorder that would kill a person by the age of twenty in all cases. If a person was not dead by the age it was an obvious indication that they were using Rigelian gene therapy. John Frederick Paxton suffered from this disorder. (ENT: "Terra Prime")

The name most likely is a reference to another of Peter Weller's character "Chuck Taggart" on the short lived series Odyssey 5. Odyssey 5 was also created by Enterprise Executive Producer Manny Coto.
