TCARS is an acronym for Temporal Computer Access and Retrieval System. It is the successor to the Federation LCARS. Ostensibly, it provides information not only from a library computer, but also about projected future events.

The TCARS computer system was used onboard the USS Relativity (Wells Class) during the 30th century. It is unknown as to when this system had become implemented onboard starships, or if it's in use on all Starfleet starships. (VGR: Relativity)
