Susan Gay Powell is an actress who portrayed Lieutenant Marla Aster in the Star Trek: The Next Generation third season episode "The Bonding".

Powell started to work as an actress in the 1970s with appearances in the television series Emergency! (1975, with Kevin Tighe and Nicholas Worth), The Law (1975, with Eugene Roche), The Six Million Dollar Man (1974 and 1976, directed by Reza Badiyi and Cliff Bole), B.J. and the Bear (1979, with Marc Alaimo and Ed Lauter), Quincy M.E. (1978 and 1981, with John S. Ragin, Robert Ito, and Ed Begley, Jr.), and The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo (1981, with Nicolas Coster).

Prior to her appearance in Star Trek: The Next Generation, Powell portrayed supporting characters in the television drama Twirl (1981, with Rosalind Chao, Tracy Scoggins, and Christopher McDonald), the crime thriller Streets of Justice (1985, with Roger Aaron Brown, Robin Gammell, Clyde Kusatsu, Henry Kingi, Sr., and Rick Fitts), and the television drama News at Eleven (1986, with Barbara Babcock, Brooke Bundy, and Carlos LaCamara) and guest starred in episodes of Otherworld (1985, with Jonathan Banks, Ivy Bethune, Earl Boen, and Merritt Yohnka), T.J. Hooker (1984 and 1985, starring William Shatner and James Darren and with Marcy Lafferty), George Burns Comedy Week (1985, with Michael Ensign, Michael J. Pollard, Jay Robinson, and Phil Rubenstein), and Airwolf (1985, with William Windom, Mic Rodgers, and Gary Epper).

Further work includes episodes of The New Lassie (1989, with Chuck Hicks), Equal Justice (1991, with Michael Durrell, Tricia O'Neil, Judith Jones, and Nicholas Kepros), Dangerous Women (1991, starring Paul Carr), Days of Our Lives (1993, with Louise Sorel, Renée Jones, and Marta Martin), and Ellen (1996).
