Surmak Hoek was a Bajoran, who together with Surmak Stimson was a parent of Surmak Ren, who was born in 2319. (DS9: "Babel")
Surmak Hoek's name appeared in Surmak Ren's personnel file, so it is not clear whether Hoek was male or female. Surmak Hoek's name, like that of Surmak Stimson and Surmak Ren is an in-joke to the lead characters of the animated show "Ren and Stimpy".
