Subspatial contortion is a subspace phenomenon that can make wormholes unsafe to starship travel.
An illusory wormhole to Earth, created by the telepathic pitcher plant for the USS Voyager crew in 2375, was free of subspatial contortions. (VOY: "Bliss")
