Subspace relay station

Subspace relay stations are structures designed to relay subspace communications. Organisations and species including the Hirogen, the Dominion and the Federation use subspace relay stations as part of networks for communication purposes. These stations can be manned or unmanned, space- or planet-based.

In 2371, a joint effort between the Federation and Cardassian scientists led to the creation of a relay station being built on the Gamma Quadrant side of the Bajoran wormhole to aid communications. (DS9: "Destiny")
