- The first-ever DS9 comic, this issue was released as a direct-market photo cover edition, an illustrated cover edition, a gold embossed version, a limited matte black cover edition and a polybagged edition also. There were also several "ashcan" (small-sized preview proofs) available in the preceding summer.
- It was reprinted in the "Best of DS9" collection.
- The captain of the USS Armstrong was intentionally drawn to look like John Tesh.
