Stephen Woodworth is an author and occasional actor who appeared as a background performer in an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation. [1]

A native of Fullerton, California, Woodworth's appearances on screen include a part as contestant in Win Ben Stein's Money and as a cameraman in the 2005 drama Red Doors, with Tzi Ma, Jacqueline Kim, and Freda Foh Shen.

In 1992, he won the first place at the Writers of the Future Contest with his story "Scary Monsters". The following years he published short stories in magazines such as The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, Weird Tales, Strange Horizons, and Horrors!: 365 Scary Stories. In 2004 he published his first novel, "Through Violet Eyes", a science fiction alternate history novel. He also wrote "With Red Hands" and "In Golden Blood", published by Dell Publishing. His fourth novel "From Black Rooms" was published by Bantam Books in 2006.
