Stasis box

Stasis box

A stasis box is relic from the ancient Slaver civilization. A type of storage unit, the box generates a field which holds its contents in a state of perfect stasis. Nothing, not even time, can penetrate an operable stasis box. While exceedingly rare, these relics often contain artifacts from the Slaver civilization. (TAS: "The Slaver Weapon").

A stasis box glows when it is near (within a few light years of) another stasis box. This makes the stasis box the only known detector of stasis boxes.

Items found in stasis boxes

Like many elements from "The Slaver Weapon", the stasis box was a prior invention of science fiction author Larry Niven and appears in his other works.
