Starlight Effects was a visual effects company based in Los Angeles, California. It was created by its owner Kim Bailey who was hired to work as a model maker of the Borg cube studio model and the USS Enterprise-D cross section model for the Star Trek: The Next Generation second season episode "Q Who". The one-time subcontracting of Starlight Effects to do the model builds for the episode was necessitated due to the fact that regular supplier, Gregory Jein Inc., was unavailable at the time as the services of that company was secured exclusively by Associates and Ferren to build the studio models for Star Trek V: The Final Frontier.
