Starfleet Access is a form of picture-in-picture commentary and trivia format whose name references the fictional organization Starfleet. This split-screen format shows additional information about planets, ships as well as lifeforms, and includes video commentary from multiple members of production staff. Unlike audio commentaries and text commentaries, however, this form of commentary can only be found on Blu-ray Discs and HD DVDs (rather than also DVDs).
