Star Trek Guru was a competition run by Paramount Home Entertainment from 2002 to 2004.

The 2002 competition ran in the UK and Germany, with the ultimate winners receiving tickets to the UK/German premiere of Star Trek Nemesis, as well as VIP trips to the set of Enterprise. In the UK, after the initial twenty questions were posted in Star Trek Monthly issue 92, five further sets of twenty questions, increasing in difficulty with each set, were intended to be posted concurrent with the UK release of seasons 2-5 of Star Trek: The Next Generation on DVD. After the premiere date was moved up, however, the final two sets of questions were released together, and reduced to ten questions each. To have a chance of winning, contestants had to get at least 17 out of 20 on the first four sets of questions, and 7 out of 10 on the last two. A tie-breaker, judged by a panel of experts, determined the overall winner. The UK winner also received a signed photograph of Patrick Stewart.

The 2003 edition expanded the competition to cover Germany, the UK, Italy, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and Australia, becoming International Star Trek Guru. The event ran from 1 August 2003 to 31 December 2003. Each week, ten questions were posted on the Star Trek Guru website. A weekly prize was given to the first person in each country to answer all ten questions correctly. The questions could be answered at any time until the competition's closing date. Each country had an overall winner at the competition's end, who then competed in a final round to determine the ultimate winner - the Australian Guru emerging triumphant.

2004's event saw the competition expanded still further, with countries now including the USA, Canada, and Japan. The competition ran from 1 July 2004 to 31 December 2004, with the basic weekly format remaining the same as the previous year. On this occasion, the weekly winner in each country was the contestant who answered the ten questions fastest - each question was timed, with the timer stopping between questions. The ultimate winner was the contestant with the best overall time over the six months - no final was used.
