The Star Trek Commemorative Chess Set was produced by the Franklin Mint for Star Trek's 25th anniversary in 1991. This was a standard chess set with TOS-themed pieces as follows:
Gold Pieces

- Queen: Lt. Uhura
- Bishops: Commander Spock and Dr. Leonard McCoy
- Knights: Lt. Cmdr. Montgomery Scott and Lt. Hikaru Sulu
- Rooks: The USS Enterprise
- Pawns: Starfleet Security Officers
Silver PiecesEdit
- King: Khan Noonien Singh
- Queen: The Romulan Commander From "The Enterprise Incident"
- Bishops: A Vian and the Gorgan
- Knights: Romulan Officer and Gorn Commander
- Rooks: Klingon D7-class Cruiser
- Pawns: Klingon Foot Soldiers
The pieces were produced in pewter, plated in either 24-karat gold or sterling silver and placed on crystal hexagonal bases. The board doubled as the storage case for the pieces.
