The Star Trek - Convention Special was a limited edition sampler given out at the New York Comic-Con in April 2008, and the Shore Leave convention in July 2008, as part of the Pocket Books presentations at those events. The sampler - measuring 8.5" x 11", perfect-bound, containing two pages of book text on each page - contained material from the following forthcoming (at the time) releases:

• Greater than the Sum by Christopher L. Bennett
• Kobayashi Maru by Michael A. Martin and Andy Mangels
• Star Trek: Destiny #1: Gods of Night by David Mack.
