Star Trek: The Original Series - The Collector's Edition was a partwork magazine series produced by GE Fabbri for distribution in the Commonwealth only (Canada excepted). A follow-up release to Star Trek: The Collector's Edition, it consisted of a combination of a magazine and a DVD of three episodes of Star Trek: The Original Series or episodes related to Original Series characters.
In a format similar to the previously conceived Star Trek Fact Files and Star Trek: The Magazine, the 36-page magazines contained edited material from both publications and were to be collected in special purpose 16-issue binders. Starting with the unnumbered TOS: "The Cage" (which, as a gift, came without a magazine), the series ran for 29 issues.
The DVDs, using remastered transfers, could optionally be stored in custom made metal case holders that held 13 DVDs. The "remastered" transfers should not to be confused with the 2006 "Remastered Edition" (though some imagery stemming from that project found its way in, and onto the magazines), use was made of the 1996 VHS re-release transfers. The Original Series television episodes were presented in order of original airdate.
Unlike its precursor, this edition saw no international, other language, releases.
Subscribers to the series received as gifts (apart from the "The Cage" DVD), a magazine binder, a metal case, a Spock figurine and a copy of the Star Trek: The Motion Picture (The Director's Edition) DVD.
