The Space Between was the first IDW series of Star Trek comics. Set during the seven-year run of Star Trek: The Next Generation, the first issue was sold in January 2007 and will followed by five more monthly issues to complete the run.

Issue #1 is set in season 1, issue #2 in season five, issue #3 in season seven, while issue #4 goes back to season six, season two for issue #5 and issue #6 is back in season seven once again.

It was hoped that this six part mini-series will give Star Trek comics life once again. It seems to have worked, as IDW has at least three more Trek-related miniseries planned for 2007-2008 release.
