Episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation are known to have been released on the Betamax format in the UK in the late 1980s and in the US in the early 1990s.

UK releases Edit

At least two Betamax tapes were released in the UK by CIC Video in 1987. As with the VHS release of the time these were intended for the rental market.

US releases Edit

The first three episodes were released on the Betamax format in the US by Paramount Home Video in 1991 before its demise in the early 1990s. These tapes used the same packaging as the VHS release with the only difference being that a "Beta" sticker was applied to each cover.
