Sputnik I

Sputnik 1 in orbit of Earth in 1957.

Sputnik 1 was the first artificial satellite launched by Humans. It was built by the Earth's Soviet Union, and was launched on October 4, 1957.

The Vulcans T'Mir, Mestral, Stron, and their captain observed the launch of Sputnik I while conducting research above Earth that year. (ENT: "Carbon Creek")
