Sputnik I

Sputnik I was the first artificial satellite launched by Humans. It was built by the Soviet Union (a former nation-state on Earth), and was launched on October 4, 1957.

Vulcans observed the satellite while conducting research on Earth that year. (ENT: "Carbon Creek")
