Species 6339, Humanoid. Warp-capable. Origin, grid one two four, octant twenty two theta. They were first encountered by the Borg approximately 2371. Since that time, eleven billion individuals have been assimilated. Three days ago, the Collective detected one of their last surviving shuttlecraft. A Cube was sent to intercept it.
Unknown to the Borg, in 2375, Species 6339 had introduced a viral agent, a synthetic pathogen, made to attack the programs of a Borg Cube's vinculum. The virus brought chaos to the Borgs order, which lead to the destruction of the Cube. (VOY: "Infinite Regress")
