The Spacecraft Operating & Management System, abbreviated as S/COMS, was a computer operating system used aboard many 22nd century United Earth spacecraft and stations, such as the NX-class Enterprise NX-01. It used a combination of touch and physical controls for operation, and often displayed data in several separate panes or windows on screen. (Star Trek: Enterprise)
S/COMS continued to be used by the Starfleet of the United Federation of Planets at least until the 2260s. (SNW: "Those Old Scientists")
This was a predecessor to the Library Computer Access and Retrieval System (LCARS) systems widely used by Starfleet in the 24th century. (Star Trek: The Next Generation)
On Corazonia, power relay stations used 2150s-style S/COMS software up through upgrades the USS Cerritos performed in 2381. (LD: "In the Cradle of Vexilon")
