The southern continent was a region on planet Malcor III. It was the location of the Marta community.

In 2367, while working undercover preparing to make First Contact, William T. Riker, while disguised as a Malcorian named Rivas Jakara, claimed to be from the Marta community on the southern continent. (TNG: "First Contact")
