Background Information

  • Whilst the Doctor teaches Seven of the different sexual activites and customs he refers to Species 8472 as having as many as five sexes. We also see a holo-image of two of species 8472 in a courting ritual, although no explanation is given as to how this was acquired.
  • The inspiration for this episode most likely came from the play Pygmalion by George Bernard Shaw.
