The Small Magellanic Cloud is one of the Milky Way Galaxy's satellite galaxies. It contains the star cluster NGC 602.

Several novels, including The Final Fury, Taking Wing, and The Red King make reference to the Small Magellanic Cloud. In addition, the novelization of Star Trek: The Motion Picture makes reference to a USS Magellanic Cloud.
