Silva La Forge was a command division officer in Starfleet, and the mother of one son, Geordi, and one daughter, Ariana.
Her husband, Exobiologist Edward M. La Forge served as a sciences division officer in Starfleet, although he and Silva were often on separated assignments.
At one point, Silva served as a command officer on an outpost near the Romulan Neutral Zone. (TNG: "Imaginary Friend")
By 2369, she held the rank of captain and was the commanding officer of the USS Hera. The vessel went missing in 2370, and Silva and the rest of the vessel's crew were listed as missing in action. Subsequent search missions by starships USS Noble and USS Excelsior reveal no trace of the ship's whereabouts or fate. She was survived by her husband and children. (TNG: "Interface")
