Silaran Prin
- "I promise that I'll take care of the child... and that I'll teach him the difference between darkness and light".
Silaran Prin was a Cardassian.
As a servant to Gul Pirak, he was disfigured when the Shakaar Resistance Cell attacked the Pirak residence during the Cardassian occupation of Bajor.
He harbored a desire for revenge for a number of years, finally culminating in a vendetta against those responsible for his injuries. In 2373, he began killing the members of the resistance cell.
His first victims were Latha Mabrin, who he killed with a hunter probe at the Calash retreat and Mobara, who Prin killed with a micro-explosive. Prin later planted a Romulan remat detonator on Trentin Fala, which killed her when she was transported aboard a Starfleet runabout.
Prin later upped his tactics and launched a hunter probe, which attached itself to a Talavian freighter which then travelled to Deep Space 9. It detatched itself from the freighter and began scanning for its targets - Furel and Lupaza. The device then exploded.
Prin later captured Kira Nerys when she arrived at his home to question him about the killings. She had been the ringleader in the bombing that injured him. He had great contempt for Kira, telling her that she had killed innocent civilians and that he had killed only those who had hurt him.
Prin was killed by Kira when she was able to break free from her restraints. (DS9: "The Darkness and the Light")
