The Shroud of Kahless is an ancient Klingon artifact associated with the original Emperor Kahless the Unforgettable that was rediscovered after being lost to history.

Kathryn Janeway once explained to Seven of Nine that collectively, the explorers who excavated the obelisks of ancient Vulcan and those that discovered the shroud of Kahless helped enhance the appreciation of their respective histories. (VOY: "One Small Step") This, however, doesn't match with what is known about Klingon culture, where a dead body is viewed as refuse at best, making a death shroud an improbable object. It is possible that the shroud was used in some other fashion than as a death shroud, however no mention of this is ever made.

This artifact should not be confused with the Shroud of the Sword, which was not discovered, or as so much revealed as the specified artifact until a year after USS Voyager was lost in the Delta Quadrant.
