Lieutenant Shea was a 23rd century Starfleet security officer serving aboard the USS Enterprise under the command of Captain James T. Kirk.

Shea was a member of the landing party that encountered the Kelvans on an unnamed class M planet in 2268. Shea and Yeoman Leslie Thompson were both reduced to dehydrated crystilline blocks by the lead Kelvan, named Rojan, to demonstrate his power to Kirk. Rojan would further proceed to crumble one of the blocks, killing that person. To show Kirk that the process could be reversed, he restored the surviving block to reveal that Shea was still alive.
